Type the center letter and the 6 petals from today's Blossom. We rank every playable word by points and show the best pick for each bonus petal.
The yellow circle is the required center letter. The 7 letters are always different.
How to use this Blossom solver
Blossom, the daily word game from Merriam-Webster, gives you 7 letters arranged as a flower: one center letter that every word must contain, and 6 petals. You submit only 12 words per day, so picking high scorers matters far more than finding many words.
This solver ranks every playable word by exact Blossom points. Each round the game highlights one bonus petal worth +5 points per use, so we also show the single best word for each of the 6 petals: plan your whole game before spending a guess. Select a bonus letter to re-rank the full list for that round.
Blossom scoring, exactly as the game counts it
- 4-letter word: 2 points. 5 letters: 4 points. 6 letters: 6 points.
- 7-letter word: 12 points, then +3 points for every letter beyond 7.
- Each use of the bonus petal letter adds 5 points; a word can trigger this more than once.
- A pangram, which uses all 7 letters, adds a 7-point bonus.
The takeaway: long words with repeated bonus letters are gold. A 9-letter word that uses the bonus letter twice scores 18 + 10 = 28 points before any pangram bonus.
Blossom strategy tips
- Never spend a short word early: with only 12 submissions, every 4-letter word is a wasted slot.
- Find the pangram before you play anything, then save it for a round whose bonus letter appears twice in it.
- Suffixes stretch scores: -ING, -IEST, and -NESS turn 6-point words into 12-point words.
- Letters repeat freely, so double-letter patterns like -EE- and -LL- often hide the longest words.
Blossom Solver FAQ
- Is this the official Blossom answer list?
- No. We compute every word our own dictionary can build from your letters, scored with the game's real point rules. Merriam-Webster curates its accepted list, so an occasional word we show may be rejected in the game. The Common words filter keeps you on safe picks.
- What is the highest possible Blossom score?
- It changes daily. Perfect play means choosing, for each of the 12 rounds, the best remaining word for that round's bonus letter. The per-petal table above your results is built for exactly that.
- Does the center letter have to be in every word?
- Yes, just like Spelling Bee. Words also need at least 4 letters, and only the 7 puzzle letters may be used.
