Wordle Solver Changelog
Follow new features, improvements, fixes, and reader-requested additions to Wordle Solver.
2026
- Added unpin after an anonymous user from the United States let us know it was missing. Thank you!
- Added jugum and mononykus after readers let us know they were missing. Thank you for the sharp eyes - we read every note, so keep them coming!
- Added unbar to the 5-letter word list after a user let us know it was missing. Thank you for the careful eye - we read every note and keep them coming!
- Meet Board mode - a whole new way to enter your puzzle. Retype your guesses on a board that looks just like your game, tap each tile until it matches the colors on your screen, and hit Solve. No more translating your board into form fields in your head. Playing Quordle or Octordle? Add extra guess rows with one tap. You'll find the new Board / Classic form tabs above the solver on every word length, and whichever you prefer can be set as your default in Settings (the gear icon up top). The classic form isn't going anywhere.
- Reorganized Settings into two tidy tabs - Input Method and Session Persistence - so each choice gets room to breathe.
- Sharpened the solver's duplicate-letter math: when a single guess shows the same letter as two yellows plus a grey, results now stick to exactly two copies of it - fewer stray suggestions on double-letter puzzles.
- Word-list pages (like 5-letter words starting with A) now load a lighter script build without the board code they never use - a small but welcome speed-up, especially on phones.
- The floating result tip (Found N words) no longer collides with the bottom anchor ad on short windows - it hovers just above the ad and slides back down when the ad closes.
- Hide past Wordle answers now lets you pick a range: the last 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or all time. Repeats are rare, but if you suspect an older word could make a comeback, you can hide just the recent answers and keep the oldies in play.
- Dressed the new range picker properly for dark mode - the selected chip no longer glows light-mode bright during late-night solving.
- Fixed the Quick Start bar above the solver, which could squish its three tips into an overlapping jumble at in-between window sizes - not quite phone, not quite full screen. It now folds into two tidy rows whenever space gets tight.
- Past Wordle Answers no longer shows difficulty or frequency badges for puzzles that have not been revealed yet, and tomorrow's entry is now fully hidden from the page until it goes live. Thanks to the sharp-eyed reader who noticed tomorrow's answer could peek through the monthly "Hardest" label - great catch!
- Added Acrocanthosaurus to the 16-letter word list - an Early Cretaceous carnivore from roughly 115-105 million years ago, found in the USA. Thanks to the reader who sent the request along with the facts!
- Added gibes to the 5-letter word list after a player reported it missing mid-game. Keep the reports coming!
- Removed emjoi, a stray misspelling that could appear alongside emoji in solver results and lead clues astray; thanks to the user who traced the bad trail.
- Added retie to the 5-letter word list; credit to an anonymous user from the United States who left a message to let everyone know it was missing. We read every note - keep them coming!
- Every day in Past Wordle Answers now links to a full hint page on our new sister site Wordle Hint Today - a hand-written clue, a spoiler-free hint ladder, and the definition for every puzzle since #0.
- Added Zephyrosaurus and more dinosaur names after reader feedback helped us spot the gap. We keep reading your notes.
- Added emoji to the 5-letter word list after a user let us know it was missing. We appreciate the careful feedback and keep reading every note.
- Added Yandusaurus to the 11-letter word list after a user pointed out this Jurassic herbivore was missing. We read your feedback carefully, so please keep sending the good catches.
- Polished Wordle Hint Today so it no longer checks next month's data until month-end.
- Added Wordle Hint Today, a new daily card-based hint page that lets you reveal clues one step at a time before deciding whether to see the full answer.
- Added in-definition word lookup to the dictionary popup, so you can click words inside a definition to look them up instantly.
- Fixed an issue where audio was not playing in the look up feature.
- Fixed several errors in Past Wordle Answers; special thanks to m.alldis from Australia for the helpful feedback.
- Added a built-in dictionary for solved results, so matching words now get instant definitions and extra context right after you press Solve.
- Added smarter duplicate-letter handling for Global excluded, now showing a helpful prompt when a grey letter may only be grey because it is a duplicate; thanks to Spencer from VortexSearch for the valuable feedback and detailed repro steps.
- Polished the mobile layout for Yellow Letters and the Any Order toggle, so the heading, helper text, and input row now stay nicely centered before and after switching modes.
- Introduced Any Order toggle for Yellow Letters, allowing you to quickly input misplaced letters without worrying about their exact columns. Inspired by Peter from Newcastle NSW 🇦🇺 Australia!
- Updated the interface with intuitive Green and Yellow terminology.
- Added a toggle to exclude past Wordle answers from results, helping you focus only on potential future solutions.
- Added a floating result tip for better mobile UX, allowing users to instantly scroll to findings when they appear below the fold.
- Fixed a word frequency order issue in the solver, now the words are sorted by frequency correctly.
- Added comments system! You can find it up in the hamburger menu (≡). Would love to hear what you think or just say hi to everyone else - drop a comment whenever!
- Launched Wordle Stats: Global heat index, weekday difficulty patterns, and Regional Nightmares powered by our Relative Struggle Algorithm - revealing how 26 countries uniquely struggle with Wordle puzzles.
